Returns & Refunds Policy
Effective Date: September 2025
This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to purchases made through the Oh Sew Gecko webshop. It explains the circumstances in which physical products may be returned and refunds may be issued.
1. Eligibility for Returns
– Physical products (such as cork fabric) may be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided they are unused, unopened, and in their original condition and packaging. Items must not be exposed to strong odours such as smoke or perfume.
– Customers must notify Oh Sew Gecko at returns@ohsewgecko.com before returning any item. The return address will be provided once your request has been approved.
2. Exclusions
– Digital products (PDF sewing patterns) are non-refundable once the download has started.
– Any fabric or material that has been cut, sewn, altered, or otherwise used is not eligible for a refund.
– Please note that cork fabric panels are treated the same as other fabrics: they may only be returned if unused, uncut, and in their original condition. Panels that have been cut, sewn, or altered cannot be returned.
– Items showing signs of use, wear and tear, or customer mishandling are not eligible.
– Issues arising from mistakes in sewing, mis-measurement, or wear by end customers after resale are not covered.
3. Sale Items
– Sale and discounted items follow the same return rules as regular items unless clearly marked ‘final sale/no returns’ where legally permitted.
4. Exchanges
– We do not offer exchanges. If an item is defective or we made an error, please contact us for a remedy such as a replacement or refund.
5. Proof of Purchase
– To complete a return, customers must provide a receipt or proof of purchase (such as an order number).
6. Refunds
– Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email whether your refund is approved or rejected.
– Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.
– Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the funds.
– Please note: Refund processing may take longer during public holidays, or if the shop is temporarily closed (for example, due to holidays or unforeseen emergencies).
– Refunds cover the cost of the product only. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
7. Shipping Returns
– Customers are responsible for paying their own shipping costs for returning items.
– Return shipping costs are non-refundable.
– Returns remain the customer’s responsibility until received. For higher-value items, we recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service.
– If an order is returned to us because it was uncollected or refused at delivery, we will issue a refund minus the original shipping costs.
8. Damaged or Incorrect Items
– If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact returns@ohsewgecko.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We will offer a suitable remedy such as a replacement or refund.
