Description
The Audrey is a fabulous shoulder bag with a wonderfully angular shape. It sits on a wide base with a zip opening at the top, and when on your shoulder it sits nicely under your arm, widening out at the bottom, so you can fit lots in it.
The Audrey is a fun sew for all levels! For confident beginners wanting to advance from a basic tote bag, The Audrey in its simplest form practices adding a slip pocket, a zip across the top, and strap tabs. For a more intermediate level, there’s a zip pocket inside, and for a little more advanced, floating card slots can be added inside the zip pocket.
There’s a choice of two different strap tab applications, the invisible strap tab or a zip strap tab, depending on the fabric you’re using.
Inside the internal zip pocket, are the floating card slots, perfect if you don’t want to carry a purse with you, or a great place to keep membership or store cards in so you don’t forget them. Behind and in front of the card slots, there’s enough space for a mobile phone, change, and other bits and pieces.
The finished bag size is 12″ wide x 10″ tall x 4″ deep at the base/ 30.5cm wide x 25.5cm tall x 10cm deep at the base

Materials List
- ½ metre cork fabric or 3/4 metre if using cork for front feature pocket.
- Two lengths cork fabric 65cm x 10cm/ 26″ x 4″ for the handles
- 1-metre quilting cotton, or ¾ metre if making the front feature pocket in cork.
- 1-metre Medium Weight (Non-Woven) Fusible Interfacing
- ½ Metre Decovil Light
- 1 x #5 zip 23cm/ 9” with zip pull
- 1 x #5 zip 33cm/ 13” with zip pull
- 4 x 1” Rectangle rings
- 16 x 9mm rivets (optional)
- 1” Strap ends (optional)
- Label (optional)
